I’ve been selling on Amazon UK for a couple of years now and have been wanting to expand to the US, but found it quite daunting in terms of the requirements to ensure compliance.

As I understand it, as a UK registered LTD, I can sign up to Amazon North America and gain access to the US market. All I need is a bank account and a payment card, both of which can be UK based.

Then I can submit my listings and send my stock to the US warehouses who can start fulfilling my orders.

As I understand it, there is a monthly threshold of 10k (iirc) above which you require insurance. Otherwise, in terms of taxes you just need to submit a nil federal tax return due to the tax treaty deal between the US and UK.

What else am I missing or misunderstood anything? What more do I require?

I ship out multiple boxes each day using USPS Ground Advantage and for the first time yesterday packages were being delivered too quickly for instance a package from Florida to California takes a few days and not under 15 hours and I had a package that was going to California but it got delivered to Texas. I called USPS and they told me that most likely the label got a duplicate from Amazon but how can this even happen I have had to refund so far 8 packages for the same problem since they were going to a different state for instance another package was supposed to go to MIssippi but somehow delivered to Maryland. I lost money and USPS said there’s nothing they can do about it.

Hey guys so I wanted to try amazon and thought I would atleast make the invested money back if this didn’t work out. However, I am losing money on every sale.

Product is hot glue gun which is generic product and no one gives f*ck about brand since top 40 listings are chin*se.

If no ads are running, no one sees my product and hence no sales. My click through rate is super low and AOCS is 90% .

Out of 9 dollars, amazon take 4.5 and I am spending rest on ads. So my I am bearing the item purchase cost basically. If I increase the price, it doesn’t sell. If I decrease the bid, it doesn;t show up.

One of my photo is being shown twice, which I have contacted Amazon to fix, but didn;t hear back. Any advice on that?

What should I do to not lose so much on every sale.

Was your experience similar? Is Amazon all about ad spend ? Can you not compete if you buy a generic item from Alibaba and flip it?
