Order from UK to Jersey. No VAT Charged. I’m not VAT registered
Probably a question for an accountant but I’m very confused by this.
I’m not VAT registered but I’ve received an order for less than normal and when I go on the order page there’s this notice
“Marketplace facilitator order (legislation: UK VAT on eCommerce): Amazon is collecting VAT on this transaction.
This is a marketplace facilitator order and hence VAT is being collected and remitted to the tax authorities by Amazon. Your net proceeds will not include VAT for marketplace facilitator order. Please visit Tax regulations – help page for additional information.”
So if I sell something to overseas territories like Jersey/Gibraltar etc, Amazon takes 20% for tax purposes? I’ve never added VAT on my listings. I just set the price.
