I just sold my first product on my Amazon marketplace

I recently got my first sale, which was a small role of kitchen drawer liner all said, and done boxed up, weighed 2 lbs. 4 oz., and was actually being shipped to a customer in the same state. I expected fees and have done research, of course but I was shocked to see shipping cost me 8 dollars and some change which isn’t insane but on such a small product it dug into profits quickly. How do you guys estimate shipping and factor that in when buying a new product?
