Bar codes for Branded Products

Hello,

Would appreciate your help in answering the following:

1- Do I need to have a bar code for a branded product which is already selling on Amazon by several resellers. I have been approved to sell the branded product and now in process of ordering it directly from an approved distributor.

2- I am assuming if I need a bar code, I will not be able to directly ship it from the distributor to Amazon warehouse for FBA? Please advise if there is a way around it.

3- Any pros and cons of reselling the branded product.
