Can you actually make money on Amazon?

I know the question is dumb

But I’ve been selling on Amazon for about 10 months now and I barely make any profit or sometimes only break even

Not making crazy 10k$ a month like YouTubers and other fake gurus claim

Now I know that I should keep my expectations realistic but I just wanna know from fellow experienced sellers

How much per month do you make and do you have to move a lot of units to get that profit? Or is it better to sell a few high priced items ?

And how many items do you focus on etc

I’d appreciate any insight
