As a P1 vendor, do I still need to jump through all the security hoops to get a P3 API?

We’ve been doing business with Amazon Vendor for many years. We now want to start selling through Amazon Seller P3.

We want to automatically pull down orders, process them into our ERP system, and then push back to Amazon the resulting shipping information (similar to ASNs.) We used to use their now deprecated AMTU application, so we now need to use a Seller API.

From what I’m reading, in order to do this, we need to jump through many security hoops due to privacy issues associated with using the API for orders and shipping info.

Since we are already an Amazon P1 Vendor drop-shipping directly to customers, do we still need to jump through all the hoops to get a seller API key?
