Liquidation experience

I am seller on Amazon for more than a year. Recently, I decided to opt to liquidate my inventory as my sales have been slow and I’m racking up FBA fees for storing my products. My question is, what was your experience with liquidation of your products? Is it a better option than, say, return to address, which I think will cost me more.
