Can I protect my “Generic” product from ASIN Hijackers if the GTIN for my product is registered in the gs1 database and I have certification to prove it?

Hi all – new seller. Like the title says, I’ve listed my first product and it wouldn’t let me add my own brand so I put “Generic” in the brand section. The upc/gtin is registered with gs1 so I should be able to stop anyone listing under my ASIN.

I just discovered today what an ASIN hijacker is after stumbling across another Reddit post about the issue and now I’m paranoid.

Will my product be ok or should I kiss it goodbye if it does well and hijacker’s try to list under my product?
