Amazon Liability Insurance – Do I still need it? Amazon required in the past, but sales dropped.

A couple years ago Amazon required my seller account to get a commercial general liabilty policy, which I have and still pay for. Since that time, my Amazon sales have dropped quite a bit. The insurance policy on the other hand has gone up to $40/mo.

Other than Amazon’s requirements, my business does not really need this. There’s zero risk of injury or damage to anyone/anything from the few products I sell for example.

Does anyone know if Amazon requires liability insurance once they require it once? Or is it only required if your recent sales numbers exceed their threshold?

I searched here and the Amazon forums, but did not find anything relevant.
