Can I really make money selling on Amazon?

For starters I’ll probably just buy random items in thrift stores to sell on Amazon to see what items sell better. I don’t want to make the same mistake I did with eBay like 10 years ago doing drop shipping. That didn’t make money at all and I lost money probably due to the fact I was doing it with old video games. So I will steer away from video games doesn’t seem like there is profit to be made in that area. lol I just want to eventually not have to drive to work everyday. I want to work from home for a change and stop having to work 60 hours a week just to make 50k a year which isn’t good at all in my area. I still live with my parents at the age of 37 because of rent prices. No I don’t want to be rich. I just want to be able to make enough to finally get my own place and be okay. lol
