Listing photo changed
So I am selling on a listing that I did not create. I haven’t been on it long, but it has proven to be a great seller. It was three boxes of a product belonging to a brand name Everyone knows. A couple of days ago I went to send in more stock and discovered that the photo has changed. Instead of showing the three boxes it’s showing only one box of a completely different product! It’s a product belonging to the same brand, but a different variety altogether, and only one instead of three.
The description has stayed the same. It still lists the name of the appropriate product and the appropriate quantity and the size of the package. But the photo doesn’t match the description. There are six or seven other sellers on it and they all have stock as well so they have to be as frustrated with this as I am.
I contacted support and explained that I think someone has somehow accidentally switched this photo and it needs to be switched back to its original image. They said that since I’m not the brand owner, I can’t do that. I replied again that I understand I’m not the brand owner, and that I cannot change images. I explained that this listing has an error, and that the photo does not match the description, and that they have a large number of stock in their warehouses from various sellers that are not going to match the image. I pointed out that it is going to cause a great deal of problems with their sales and that for their own benefit they need to figure out how to correct the error with this listing and asked if there was anything I could do to help. And again they declined saying that if I’m not the brand owner there’s nothing I can do. They told me that I could contact support and report a listing error… Which is what I thought I was already doing.
Now like I said before this is a big brand it’s a household name and I’m sure they are not the one that created this listing. They don’t appear to be selling on this listing. I don’t know that they even sell directly on Amazon. So I can’t imagine it would even be possible to get in touch with someone at this company and get them to contact Amazon about changing this picture. They likely have no reason to care about this.
Is this listing just useless now? Do I need to move on from it? Has anyone ever run into this before and were you able to find a solution?
