Do Seller Partnership arrangements work

There are several passive store concepts out there, where you essentially furnish an LLC, capital, and a line of credit for groups that have their own staff and warehouses, etc, and run your store for you. Minimum investments seem to be around $35k, with lines of credit up around $10k – $100k, hovering around $25k on average. Has this worked for anyone?
