Is it really that hard to find wholesalers/distributors?

I have made accounts with a couple of wholesalers and they have given me a pricelist which I have run through keepa to find top-selling products. But as I looked through their price list, their prices were to high when I compared to what it is selling on amazon.
Is it really that hard to find wholesalers/distributors with good prices or am I not looking hard enough or do I need to contact the brands directly? I am focusing on health and beauty right now.
