Becoming an Amazon seller?

Hi everyone, I’m just reaching out to see people’s opinions. I currently reside in Canada. Basically I’m wondering if it is worth my time to invest in hot trending items, form Alibaba at a lower cost. Then flipping them selling items though my Amazon store. Overall I wanted to hear people’s thoughts & opinions and experiences if anyone has gone this route…. I’m looking to start a side hustle while I work. Yes I know I am late as I could of probably started years ago.. but I’d love to hear it all, tips , pros, cons. Etc.
