crazy high Amazon bid recommendation

One of the product kinds I am interested are usually 12-18 USD per item.

I expected amazon keyword bid (exact) to be no more than 1.5 USD at most.

But the recommended average bids for even specific, exact keywords are 4-6 USD!

I don’t see how this is possibly sustainable or what is going on.

I’ll find out soon myself, but any experience on products with similarly crazy high bid profiles?
