INFORM Act and Amazon seller’s privacy
I have an LLC with a business address and a business bank account, but applying to sell on Amazon requires me to give them my personal ID/address along with the business bank account info. A few questions about that:
The INFORM Act says it will give buyers my name and address. Will my personal name be given out/publicized somewhere? I will be selling my own products manufactured in-house, nothing risky/shady, but I do want to keep my name separated from my LLC as much as possible for privacy (I actually have a holding company LLC and an operating company LLC arrangement that keeps my name out of the public database. If Amazon just gives out my company name that’s OK. My bank account statement just has my LLC name and business address listed, not my own name or personal information. Is this, along with my personal ID, sufficient for Amazon verification? Out of curiosity, how do big companies with a lot of employees do this? Does the employee tasked with managing the amazon sales account just give their personal ID and information on behalf of the company? What if they quit and leave the company?
