“At-Risk Sales?” Is Amazon holding my sales money hostage? I’m in a Catch-22, and am wondering how to fix it…
So I have a product that is listed with the wrong manufacturer. Instead of “othercompany,” it is listed as “u/Turbopower1000.”
But in this specific product, we have a test report with the manufacturer listed as “Othercompany.” So I wish to change it. Here’s the catch…
I can’t change the manufacturer name unless the product is live. The product was taken down for an incorrect test report. Reason for the takedown? It’s listed as “Othercompany.” Method of fixing this? Having the product live, and then changing the manufacturer name. But why can’t I change the manufacturer name? Because it’s listed as “othercompany” and therefore cannot be live. And so on and so forth.
I want to just remove the product, re list it properly, and go on my way. But Amazon currently lists “$X at-risk sales,” and when asking one of the customer service reps, they said that it “~probably means that you’ll lose that money if you take down this listing. (very uncertainly though)”
Will I actually lose all my $X money of at-risk sales if I take down this listing? I’ve tried every few days for the past 3 months to get this issue solved, but it’s just such a big loophole that I’m not sure if its even possible, barring maybe scribbling out the real manufacturer on my CPSIA form and writing the one listed on Amazon. Or paying even more money to have it tested here… What should I do?
