Distributor Strategies

I’m new to Amazon Reselling, like haven’t sold a single product yet. I’m working on getting ungated, and have been reading a bunch of the old posts on here. This led me to ask what was your process of finding legitimate wholesalers and distributors? I’m not asking for names, just the process of finding and vetting legitimate sources?
