Purchase vs build FBA business for new seller

I’m going back and forth between purchasing an existing FBA business and trying to build one myself. I have no experience selling on Amazon whatsoever, so buying an established business with existing history would definitely be easier. On the other hand, I would have more time to learn the ropes if I build it myself. The business I am looking at has already been making money for years and I think it has improvement potential. It’s priced at a point that it would hurt would I loose it, but I would not go hungry because of it.

What do you think? What are the pros and cons of each approach? What would you do if you would start at zero and with no experience?
