Anyone source from auctions? How do you deal with seller applications?

I’m just starting out and it seems like almost every brand requires approval. I got approved for one brand that was a product sourced at an auction but declined for a second. It was the same auction house and both times it was a distributor that went out of business. I see a lot of potential here but I can’t make big purchases based on a 50/50 shot I’ll get approved. Anyone else have experience with this?
