Can’t change listing title
I’m pulling my hair out. A few weeks ago I tried to add a single variation to my first listing. The parent listing title was automatically changed to include “Generic” at the beginning of the description, and added the SKU to the end. After much ado with images, pricing, descriptions and pretty much everything else, I decided to scrap the variations and just create a second listing. So now my original listing is as it was with the exception of the title. I tried editing it from the inventory manager to put it back exactly as it was before the variation debacle and get a message that it will be updated within 24 hours. After 7 or 8 tries, it never is. I decided to use the help option to update the title and I’m now getting the following error:
Your update includes content that may not comply with Amazon’s Style Guide
• The suggested title doesn’t have words capitalized accurately. Titles should have capitalized nouns and prepositions shouldn’t be capitalized
This is my proposed title:
GE Opal Ice Maker Bushing to Fix Screeching Grinding and Black Sludge – for Original Opal Only (Not for 1.0/2.0)
I’m not a fan of capitalization in general, but the Amazon style guide says:
• Capitalize the first letter of each word.
• Do not capitalize conjunctions (and, or, for), articles (the, a, an), or prepositions with fewer than five letters (in, on, over, with).
I’ve tried with no ‘special’ characters and even shortened the title to “GE Opal Ice Maker Bushing” and it won’t accept that. What am I missing?
