Did I get bad advice from support?

So…Amazon support suggested that I add a product by matching it to an existing listing. So, I can find the other product – think toothbrush cover – in the Amazon catalog. But my “toothbrush cover” is a different registered brand, design, GTIN and price than my competition. Should I click on “Sell This Product” and enter my offer info like support suggested. Or, should I create a new product listing? Thanks, in advance, for the input.
