Is it normal that the process to set up FBA on Amazon takes months?

I’m trying to sell books on Amazon EU and it’s the most horrible user experience I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve developed multiple software tools, I’m not the stupidest person, but their UI and support are horrific.

First, it took them months to verify my credit card on every marketplace.

Then it took them months to approve my perfectly legitimate company registered in France.

Then it took them weeks to let me send them stock.

When I sent the stock, they didn’t assign it to the product, and then I’m playing ping pong with support who’s worse than the 1 gen AI.

Then they say the VAT number for selling in Germany should be German even though as a EU company you can sell anywhere in Europe with that VAT number.

Is this everyone’s experience or I’m just not lucky?
