handling my first return
I sell causally on Amazon — just my used books, really. After about 100 sales, I’ve encountered my first return.
The return is marked “auto-authorized”. I think that means that Amazon approved the return, but I haven’t.
Looks like Amazon issued a UPS label for the return. If I track that package on the Amazon site, it says that the “package left the shipper facility”, but has no other updates and the “Location” field is blank. (Not accepted, for example.) If I track the same label number at UPS, the status is that they’re awaiting the item.
From the online help it looks like I don’t issue the refund until I actually receive the item and check it over.
Who paid for the return shipping?
Looks like the item must be returned to me within 15 days. Is that correct?
