Carrie Miller:
New AI-powered audio summaries for product detail pages, Helium 10 has a brand new most requested feature release that has to do with Keyword Tracker and new Kindle advertising placements. This and more on this week’s episode of The Weekly Buzz. Hello, everybody, and welcome to another episode of the AM/PM podcast by Helium 10.
Carrie Miller:
I’m your host, Carrie Miller, and this is the show that is our Helium 10 Weekly Buzz, where we give you a rundown of all the goings-on in the Amazon TikTok shop and e-commerce world. We let you know what new features Helium 10 has, and we also give you a training tip of the week. So let’s get started and see what’s buzzing.
Carrie Miller:
Okay, let’s go ahead and get into the first article, and this is pretty cool, and it’s basically about new AI-powered product audio summaries on the product detail pages within Amazon. So imagine just shopping on Amazon without reading a single review. So instead, you’re just gonna hit play, and then AI literally talks you through the product.
Carrie Miller:
So that’s what Amazon is doing. Amazon just made shopping feel, I guess maybe like a conversation or a podcast or something like that, but they rolled out this new AI feature called Hear the Highlights, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. It’s instead of scrolling through the product pages and having to read, AI basically does a product summary and takes all the reviews and makes shopping easier.
Carrie Miller:
So these summaries aren’t just random, like whatever they think, it’s coming from different parts of the actual listing. So it’s gonna have the product details, customer reviews, and information from across the entire web. So basically, it’s gonna do all the research for you, and then it’s gonna turn it into a quick conversational audio clip.
Carrie Miller:
So if you think about it, this is actually super helpful if you’re cooking, you’re driving, you’re multitasking, hopefully not driving, actually, like that’s actually a bad idea. If you’re multitasking and doing something, and instead of having to read through the reviews and just stopping what you’re doing, you can actually listen while you’re doing something else. So it’s basically like having a helpful friend kind of help you kind of decide whether or not to buy something.
Carrie Miller:
So this isn’t just one feature though, it’s basically Amazon’s kind of stacking a bunch of different features that they already have rolled out, like Rufus, AI-generated review summaries, and now audio. So actually in the article, it’s basically positioning it as AI shopping experts that have done all the research for you. And that’s really where we’re kind of moving from, maybe it’s gonna be more audio, and you’re gonna stop scrolling, you’re gonna be listening instead of actually having to read.
Carrie Miller:
So e-commerce is becoming really conversational. And what this kind of means, and I think we should think about this, is we do need to be optimizing for AI. Now, I don’t think this is the most important at this point because it’s actually a very small part of the whole search process. But as time goes on, it’s gonna get more and more important. Currently, obviously, we still need to focus on keywords. And I don’t think keywords will literally ever go away because people are still searching keywords when they’re searching for products.
Carrie Miller:
But you might also wanna optimize for the AI just because it’ll help with not only this type of thing, but also maybe help people find it in Rufus. So this kind of helps maybe not necessarily with finding it, but it helps maybe more with conversion because it’s gonna give a lot more information via audio that the computer kind of synthesizes. So that’s something to think about.
Carrie Miller:
And again, it’s not gonna replace keywords, but I think this is kind of enhancing the whole experience, something that you should really kind of optimize for for conversion and potentially some search for like Rufus. Although we know from stats that that’s such a small part right now. But again, really, really a good idea to start kind of learning this stuff, getting optimized for the future while you maintain your keyword stuff.
Carrie Miller:
So there’s that. So next up, I’m gonna show you one of the most requested features in Helium 10. It has to do with Keyword Tracker. A lot of people have been asking for many, many years to connect Keyword Tracker to advertising. And the reason for that is, is because when you’re in Keyword Tracker, especially if you’re using our boost tool that checks your rank every hour on the hour, so you can see really accurate, detailed information about where your rank is. So say you have a product keyword that you’re targeting this keyword and it’s ranked 60 or something like that, but you want it to be in the top 10.
Carrie Miller:
So what you wanna do is be able for your advertising, maybe kind of increase your bids and be able to kind of get more visibility to try to get the top of search for that specific keyword. Now, currently you’ve had to do it manually because you’re looking in Keyword Tracker and you’re looking at all those keywords that you’re targeting. You’re saying, okay, I’m still not ranking fully for this keyword, so I need to increase my bid.
Carrie Miller:
Or maybe if you already are ranking for something and you’re doing pretty well, you might wanna decrease to save a little bit of money and just kind of see where that sweet spot is. But now we have this really cool feature in Helium 10 that is a bid rule optimization and it connects with Keyword Tracker. So I’m gonna show it to you. So the first thing you wanna do is go to Rules and Automation here, and then you’re gonna click on Keyword Tracker, okay? This is where you’re gonna set the whole thing up. You’re gonna click on Create Rule.
Carrie Miller:
And then what you’ll do first, you’re gonna choose a product and I’m gonna choose this one, okay? This is one of our products that we’ve been doing. And so once you choose the product, cause you’re saying, hey, I wanna rank for their specific keywords, I wanna rank with this product. Then the keywords that are in Keyword Tracker. So you have to set this up in Keyword Tracker first. The keywords that are in Keyword Tracker are gonna show here. So maybe I’m wanting to rank higher for bath rug or gothic bath mat or any of these keywords. So I’m just gonna add those here. Then what you’ll do is you’ll choose the campaign where you want this bid rule to apply and you’ll hit Add.
Carrie Miller:
And then this is down here where you’re gonna do the actual criteria. And this is pretty exciting stuff. So what you’re gonna do is you’re gonna choose either Keyword Tracker, Keyword Performance here. I’m gonna choose Keyword Tracker, Organic Rank, and you can say Average Position. This is kind of the average. So say you’re doing, you know, checking your rank every hour on the hour, you know, for with the boost button that we have in Keyword Tracker.
Carrie Miller:
This will take the average position or you can take the median. If you remember in math, it’s like the middle number. And when you actually like can lay out all the numbers, it’ll be the actual middle number. So not really super helpful to know the medium and then consecutive checks. What I would do is consecutive checks. And so maybe in the last, you know, three, five, seven, whatever you wanna do, maybe I’ll say the last seven checks all are all, you know, greater than like, say, you know, 50.
Carrie Miller:
So basically this is saying, hey, my rank is actually greater than 50. So this is what I want to take an action if this is the case. And you can hit Set to Increase Bid a Certain Amount. And that’s what I would choose. You can do all these different options, but Increase Target Bid, like say you wanna do it 5 cents if it’s still above, it can just basically, you know, keep adding. You can choose the amount here and you can do it small or in so it’ll incrementally increase it.
Carrie Miller:
And then you can also, I like this part, you can actually set a maximum bid. So say you don’t want to bid, you know, higher than like $5 for, oops, that’s 500, $5 for a keyword, then you can hit the max bid so that you don’t kind of overspend on this keyword. But, you know, when you’re ranking things, a lot of times you might have to pay a bit more for these particular keywords to get to the top of the rank.
Carrie Miller:
And that’s just kind of how it is to get that visibility. And then once you get the visibility, then you can start ranking for that product. And you’ll see in Keyword Tracker that your rank actually goes down and hopefully, you know, to that top 10 spot. And again, this could also work for, if you wanted to do it, you know, for if you wanted to do like less than, like say it’s less than 10, you might go in here and you might decrease by a certain amount. So there’s a few different ways that you can, you know, do that and set that up. But this is a really amazing tool that we’ve actually added.
Carrie Miller:
And it’s something that’s gonna help kind of decrease all this manual work. And it’s gonna help you to connect your Keyword Tracker to ads and it’s gonna help you to be able to rank probably faster without having to constantly be watching this, you know, or basically doing all this manual work. You’re definitely gonna be wanna watching this stuff to just see if your rank is increasing when you’re increasing these bids. But this helps to have it connected with Keyword Tracker. So if you are an elite, you can definitely check this out. You can start utilizing this with your ads.
Carrie Miller:
If you’re Diamond, you’ll be able to get this next. So it will be showing up soon in your dashboards. Again, this is something that’s been highly, highly requested, really cool feature to make sure that you can, you know, basically rank and then also maybe save money when you’re already ranked. All right, next up, we have some announcements about advertising on Kindle e-readers. Amazon just opened up a brand new ad placement that sellers I think should be paying attention to and that is Kindle lock screens. I personally have a Kindle scribe and when you lock it, there’s a huge screen and it has an image on it usually.
Carrie Miller:
So Amazon announced that the lock screen ads on Kindle e-readers are now gonna be available through Amazon DSP, which means that brands can now place full screen ads directly on a device that people check daily. So a lot of people that are reading or the thing about the Kindle scribe especially is that you’re not just reading books. It has organizers on there. There’s all these kind of cool things you can download and utilize and it has little like stylus that you can write on it. So people are actually checking this daily. So this can be kind of positioned as a high attention format with ads showing when the device is idle.
Carrie Miller:
So you’re not, you know, competing with a crowded search results page or any other listing. And so according to Amazon, this gives advertisers access to premium full screen placements in a more relaxed distraction free environment. So for sellers, this isn’t about, you know an immediate conversion like, you know, sponsored products. This is kind of upper funnel and awareness and brand recall. And it’s about staying on the top of mind before the shopper even gets to Amazon search. And the targeting is where I think it’s the most interesting because it’s powered by Amazon DSP.
Carrie Miller:
So you can leverage Amazon audience data and, you know shopping and browsing signals to reach highly relevant users. So if you think about this another way it’s a way to build demand off of search and not just capture it. So the bigger change here is that Amazon is, you know really expanding their ads ecosystem beyond just the marketplace into devices, content and, you know, like everyday things that you’re using especially with this, you know, Kindle stuff because people are using these daily.
Carrie Miller:
So as a seller, this is really an opportunity to, you know not just optimize, you know, for your listings but it’s really a way to kind of build that awareness and see kind of the whole customer journey. Because if you’re only investing in kind of bottom of funnel ads, you’re gonna miss, you know where the demand is. And I know I’ve talked to a lot of people who have really invested in audiences and DSP and they’ve seen a huge lift.
Carrie Miller:
So this is really cool. I think, especially as a Kindle user I know a lot of people are using Kindle. I’m curious to know what you all think. Do you all use Kindle? What do you think about these full page ads on the lock screen? All right, up next, we’re gonna do the strategy of the week with Shivali and it has to do with Amazon hijackers. So take it away Shivali.
Shivali Patel:
Did you know someone could be selling your product in another Amazon marketplace right now? And you wouldn’t even know it. Why is this important and how can it make you money? Because if someone is selling on your ASIN in another marketplace, whether they’re drop shipping they’re selling non-genuine inventory or simply reselling without your authorization well, it impacts your brand, your pricing as well as potentially your reviews. And if they sell under your ASIN any negative review affects that listing overall. That can spill over into your main marketplace.
Shivali Patel:
Monitoring this is not optional. It’s simply brand protection. Let me show you how you can check on this inside of Helium 10. All you need is the Helium 10 Chrome extension. You’re gonna go to your product or even a competitor’s product and make sure that the Chrome extension is running. In the top right-hand side where it says all marketplaces you’re going to click see more data.
Shivali Patel:
Now you can see every Amazon marketplace where that ASIN is active. For example, we are only selling this product in US and Canada, but look at this. Someone’s selling our product in Amazon France and Amazon Poland, and even Amazon Belgium. It even shows how much stock they’ve got. So let’s click into Amazon Sweden. Who in the world is selling our product there? Here it is. Our listing live at Amazon Sweden. Somebody called Ursin Trade is selling it for 1,143.
Shivali Patel:
We don’t really know what the Swedish currency is. I recall maybe Kronas, but if we didn’t have this tool we would have had no idea that this was happening, right? The same ASIN is showing up in Amazon Japan, Amazon Turkey, Amazon Poland, Belgium, and more. And this tool lets you see where your competitors are active, what marketplaces they’re expanding into, how much stock have they got left, and whether someone is hijacking your listing. And remember, if someone sells under your ASIN in good product or bad, that review is gonna be attached to your ASIN and that’s gonna affect your listing health overall. So it’s critical that you monitor who’s selling your ASINs even in the marketplaces where you are not actively selling yourself.
Shivali Patel:
With the Helium 10 Chrome extension, you can check this in seconds and protect your brand globally instead of trying to figure out what to do next after the damage has already been done.
Carrie Miller:
Thank you so much, Shivali, for that strategy of the week. All right, let’s go ahead and get into the last article. And that is about the Seller Cafe. Okay, so Seller Cafe is actually opening appointments for the new Seller Summit. And if any of you go to Accelerate, you know that this is very, very valuable gold. If you have any issues with your account, this is a great place to get them solved because you actually get to sit down and face-to-face to a customer support person or a seller support person that is going to help you to deal with any issues.
Carrie Miller:
And some people literally are not able to figure some things out for years and then they finally do this Seller Cafe and it just is a game changer for their whole business. So this is something that’s really cool. And this new Seller Summit is literally for new sellers. So if you are a new seller, you’re having some issues or you need some help with something, set up one of these appointments and get your issue resolved. And so they’re really first come first serve. And I know these kind of tend to disappear pretty fast.
Carrie Miller:
So get on this as soon as possible. And then the Seller Summit has an early bird rate of $99. So I would sign up for it if you need some help. So go ahead and check out the new Seller Summit and get on the schedule for the Seller Cafe. All right, and finally, we actually have a Prime Day Strategies webinar where we’re actually talking about AI, Prime Day Strategies and just Helium 10 using all of those together for Prime Day and to really dominate. So if you actually miss it, because it’s actually today, if you end up seeing this later, you can actually go down below and register for the webinar and then you’ll get the replay sent to you.
Carrie Miller:
So if you wanna do that, go ahead and do that. We also might put the actual replay link in the comments as well so that you can actually see this Prime Day Strategies webinar. It’s really gonna be full of amazing strategies. We have 15 different experts and they’re gonna be talking about different strategies that they use. Carrie Miller:
So if you haven’t signed up or if you wanna look at the replay, go ahead and check in our description here and check out the Prime Day Strategies webinar. That is all I have for you today for the weekly buzz. So we will see you again next week to see what’s buzzing. Bye everyone.
