Important Amazon question about UPC’s

I bought a product at a retail store. I want to sell a piece of the product as it’s own product on Amazon. I will be buying a barcode (upc) online, then using it to register said item and sell it on Amazon. The product belongs to a large company in a specific industry. Legally, what am I looking at?
