Need advice

Basically I am creating an electronic product and having it manufactured in China. My concern is that they might make it poorly and due to the poor build the electronic might explode due to the battery inside it. My question is how often does a poorly made product explode or if it does at all? I have an option to make it rechargable battery or make it replaceable. Which of the 2 option would be safer in terms of it burning, etc. Also what are my options in ensuring that the product is safe to sell for consumers. Thanks
