Belgium and Amazon translation

Has anybody else listed in Belgium and encountered language issues? I have listed in French and according to Amazon, users can choose French, Dutch or English. I have had a look and Amazon does a lousy translation on the title and then leaves the rest of the listing in the original language. Useless and excluding 60% of the country.

Do closed listings impact Featured Offer Percentage?

I am new to Amazon, but I am registered in the brand registry and I’m the only seller of my branded products. Usually my Featured Offer % is 100% but when an item goes out of stock it drops below 100%, I think because people look at the listing when it’s out of stock. I have one item that will be going out of stock in the next couple of days and I’m wondering what to do about this? If I close the listing then will people still be able to view the listing an cause my Featured Offer % to take a hit? Is that what I’m supposed to do? Thanks for any help you can give.

How to Sell on Amazon in 2025: The Ultimate Beginner’s Step-by-Step Guide

Thinking about starting your Amazon business in 2025? You’re not alone—and you’re right on time.

With over 300 million active Amazon users and third-party sellers now driving over 60% of all product sales, selling on Amazon has never been more promising. But success isn’t as simple as listing an item and hoping for the best. You need a smart strategy, the right tools, and a roadmap that works in today’s market.

Welcome to your step-by-step beginner’s guide to selling on Amazon in 2025—built to educate, empower, and help you launch confidently.

Step 1: Create Your Amazon Seller Account

Start by registering your account on Amazon Seller Central.

Choose between:

  • Individual: No monthly fee, but $0.99 per sale.
  • Professional: $39.99/month—ideal for serious sellers with more than 40 sales/month.

Pro Tip: Go with Professional if you want access to advertising, bulk listings, and advanced selling tools.

Step 2: Understand Amazon Selling Models

Before sourcing your first product, know your model:

  • FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon): Amazon handles shipping, returns, and customer service.
  • FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant): You manage inventory and shipping yourself.
  • Private Label: Sell your own branded products (requires upfront investment).
  • Retail Arbitrage: Reselling discounted items you source locally.
  • Wholesale: Buy bulk inventory from distributors to resell on Amazon.

💡 Want sourcing ideas? Explore 10 Best Product Sourcing Alternatives to China and Top Sourcing & Fulfillment Companies to diversify amid 2025’s shifting tariff landscape.

Step 3: Select Profitable Products to Sell

Choosing the right product can make or break your Amazon journey.

Use Amazon’s Product Opportunity Explorer to evaluate:

  • Search volume and trends
  • Market competition
  • Conversion rates
  • Seasonal patterns

📈 Temporary 2025 tariff cuts may boost margins for electronics and tools, but with potential reintroductions looming, product diversification remains essential.

Step 4: Source Your Product

Once you’ve identified your niche:

  • Connect with suppliers via Alibaba, IndiaMART, or local vendors.
  • Verify legitimacy: ask for references, samples, and documentation.
  • Compare pricing, minimum order quantities, and shipping timelines.
  • Request product testing and quality assurance checks.

🛡 Use our How to Vet Overseas Suppliers in 2025 Guide to avoid costly mistakes.

Step 5: Set Up and Optimize Your Listings

Your product page is your storefront. It must convert browsers into buyers.

Here’s what makes a great listing:

  • Keyword-rich product title (use Amazon’s title compliance guidelines)
  • Compelling bullet points highlighting features and benefits
  • High-quality product images (minimum 1000px resolution)
  • A+ Content (available to Brand Registered sellers)

📌 Explore our complete guide to Amazon listing optimization to make sure your product pages are fully optimized from day one.

Step 6: Set Your Price and Shipping

When pricing your product, factor in:

  • Cost of goods sold (COGS)
  • FBA and referral fees
  • Shipping and tariffs
  • Ad spend (ACoS)
  • Competitor pricing

💰 Pro Tip: Avoid pricing too low—focus on delivering value and building brand trust.

Step 7: Use Extensions and Tools to Analyze Competition

Get insights with browser extensions like:

  • Keepa: Track product price history
  • How Many Extension: Estimate competitors’ sales volume and inventory
  • Amazon DS Quick View: See seller counts and ranks directly in Amazon search

These tools offer a competitive edge and help inform your product strategy.

Step 8: Manage Inventory and Fulfillment

Avoid stockouts and costly overages with:

  • Real-time restock alerts
  • Forecasting tools
  • Smart reorder recommendations

✅ The Seller Labs Restock App helps sellers stay compliant with Amazon’s restock limits. It offers data-backed restock recommendations based on SKU velocity, profitability, and seasonality.

Step 9: Launch Ads and Get Traffic

Once you’re live, drive traffic with:

  • Sponsored Products Ads
  • Lightning Deals and Coupons
  • External Traffic like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Google Shopping

Monitor your campaigns weekly, adjust bids, and pause poor performers. Keep an eye on your Advertising Cost of Sale (ACoS) for profitability—and consider using Ad Genius to automate optimizations and uncover wasted ad spend.

Step 10: Monitor Performance and Scale

Keep your business running smoothly by tracking:

  • Customer reviews and seller feedback
  • Amazon’s performance metrics and notifications
  • Inventory Performance Index (IPI) score
  • Ad ROI and profitability by SKU

💡 The Genius Bundle from Seller Labs helps Amazon sellers streamline operations and grow smarter with tools like:

  • Feedback Genius: Automate review and feedback request emails, and monitor both customer feedback and product reviews in one place.
  • Profit Genius: Get a full financial picture across your catalog using tools like Restock, Data Hub, SKU Details, SKU Economics, and an AI-powered Query Builder—perfect for tracking SKU-level profit, costs, and trends.
  • Ad Genius: Analyze Amazon ad performance with real-time campaign insights, discover top-performing strategies, and make data-driven adjustments to maximize ROI.

Final Thoughts: Starting Strong in 2025

Selling on Amazon in 2025 is full of potential—but it requires more than just great products. Success means mastering strategy, managing fulfillment, leveraging data, and continually optimizing.

Canada seller, How to solve GTIN for global product

Hi, I am a canada amazon seller based in Canada. I have been selling on amazon for quit a while, I usuallly use GTIN/UPC from random website to list generic items. Recently, I got authorization letter for selling a global product, the item models cannot be found on amazon, but while listing the product amazon were requesting for so many stuffs including GS1 certificate which i have never gotten before. The product company said they dont have any of such. I submitted the new UPC but amazon wants GS1 Certificate. When I checked GS1 website, there price is too high with annual renewal.

As anyone here be in this situation?

will getting GS1 GTIN solves this (I am sceptical because of the price, I will if chances of success is high),?

Any better way to solve this?

Rogue Amazon customer – rinse and repeat fraud

Hello fellow sellers. I am selling on Etsy and Amazon (FBM). Quite recently, a buyer emerged who started using the following tactic: she buys my products, uses them, then applies for a refund without returning the items, claiming high postage fees. She does this repeatedly – rinse and repeat.

Etsy was very kind and blocked her from placing further orders from my shop. Then she found my products on Amazon and started buying there. Same tactic: she buys, uses the product, and then requests a full refund claiming “she bought by mistake.” Amazon pre-approved her refund, and she wasn’t required to return the items. Nice.

How can I stop this scammer from abusing me on Amazon? I already reported her, but Amazon responded that they don’t see any violations on her part. If she orders again, I’ll cancel her order, but I know that will hurt my account health. At the same time, I can’t keep accepting this kind of fraudulent behavior from someone who openly exploits Amazon’s system. It seems Amazon doesn’t care because I’m the one paying for it.

What would you do in my situation? I’m sure others have dealt with customers like this. Can you actually fight repeat offenders? Can you block them? I’m moving to FBA soon, and from what I understand, I won’t be able to cancel her orders anymore, right?

One of my employee’s accounts was inexplicably locked and suspended (?)

Hello.

One of my employees has an account under our companies main amazon account. 2 days ago she received notification from amazon stating that her account was temporary locked. They stated as “You may have provided inaccurate information to Amazon, or used your Amazon account in violation of our conditions of use.” as the reason for the lock.

To the best of her and my knowledge she has not done anything against TOS. Furthermore no other employee account in our company has been effected, include my own admin account.

I had replied to the notification she received asking Amazon to give us a status of her account and to tell us how it can be unlocked. They replied 24 hours later stating that after careful investigation her account would stay locked without giving us any more detail as to why, or what was done in the first place to cause this.

Recap:

  1. Employee’s account was locked and seemingly suspended for no reason that we are aware of
  2. Main admin account and other employee accounts are fine
  3. Amazon is not telling us what happened here, or what we can do to resolve this.

has anyone been in a similar situation, and can you provide any guidance? This is beyond bewildering and I simply cannot see a reason for it. I have not tried creating her a new account yet until I exhaust all other avenues or escalations.
