New Seller Here – Need Help Deciding on Pricing Strategy (Bento Box Niche)

Hey guys,

I wanted to share my journey so far as a new Amazon seller and get some advice. I started my private label journey back in November with a bento lunch box product. It was my first launch, and I ordered 160 units. Since the product was brand new, I priced it between $16.95 and $14.95 (mostly $14.95) to stay competitive and generate some traction.

I ran ads from the beginning—definitely spent more than I should’ve at times (as expected with trial and error), but my focus was just to get the product moving. Eventually, I sold out my first batch by mid-March. I didn’t really make any profit—broke even at best or slightly in the red—but I was okay with that since I was learning and happy to see results.

Out of those 160 units, I had just 1 or 2 returns, which I’m taking as a positive sign for the product itself.

In April, I restocked with 200 units, and things have been going better. I’m currently getting 2 to 4 orders a day with around $10–$15 in daily ad spend. The orders seem to be a mix of organic and sponsored, which feels like good progress.

I’m still selling at $14.95, which helped get those early sales, but the margin is too thin to be sustainable. Ideally, I’d like to gradually bring the price up to $22–$24, but I know that might take time. For now, I’m thinking about raising the price slightly to maybe $16.95 or $17.95 to start earning a bit of profit while continuing to build momentum.

My goal is to eventually hit around $1,000–$1,500/month in profit, but I’m not sure if increasing the price now will slow down my order volume or require more ad spend to maintain it. My experience of last shipment with price increase was not good it did disturb the volume of orders (with 0 or 3, 4 orders a week)

Competitor pricing in this niche ranges from about $15 to $24, so I feel like I’m somewhere in the middle currently.

Any advice or insights from people who’ve been in a similar position would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!.

Thanks in advance!

Amazon FBA duplicate Label

I just had UPS Pick up 250 cartons from my WH, only for Amazon to check in one of the shipments an hour later.

Looks like it’s a duplicate label Amazon provided another seller, coming from Canada (I shipped from California) arrived to a different FBA facility using the same exact label.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them before? Hoping my shipment arrives and gets checked in without issues.

If I ship a big order to a customer(FBM) and he returns it because he found it cheaper elsewhere, I have to pay for the shipping twice ?

Seems like an easy way a competitor could bankrupt me ?
