Amazon FBM & On-Time Delivery Rate

We have been selling on Amazon as FBM for over a year now and our sales have slowly been increasing month over month. However, over the last few months, we’ve noticed sales being spotty if not sluggish which is to be expected, but our on-time delivery rate (OTDR) metric has been below the 90% target in the past few months as well. The vast majority of our customers are buying with “Standard” shipping which is usually USPS Ground Advantage and we’re just getting peppered by USPS dropping the ball and delivery times are sometimes double what is advertised, if the package ever makes it at all.

So far, we’ve gotten one alert over the OTDR metric falling below 90% as well as premium ship options being removed at checkout (because of OTDR)..and we may get another one soon.

We’re looking for suggestions to avoid this scenario where shipments are lower and OTDR can vary much more dramatically with just a few bad deliveries. Do we just have to ship UPS ground every time and charge more for shipping (it’s almost double)? I don’t think that will go well with customers but would protect us more. Thoughts?

Incorrect stranded inventory means can’t ship any product

When I try to create a shipment I get “his product cannot be added to the shipment because the ASIN has stranded inventory,” . I had a locked account for a couple of days due to the inform bureaucracy and my inventory was designated as “stranded” All unlocked now, but still get this error and the Stranded Inventory report says there is no stranded inventory. Have been hassling support for 2 weeks now and just seem to be stuck,

Is Amazon FBA really not worth it anymore in 2025? Or are these Reddit posts just overly negative?

Hey everyone

I’m about to start Amazon FBA in a few weeks once I get back from a trip, and I’ve been doing a ton of research and prep in the meantime. I’ve already set up an LLC, opened a business bank account, and got through Amazon’s insane verification process. I’ve got some capital I’m ready to invest and I’m trying to take this seriously from day one.

That said, the more I read through Reddit, the more discouraged I feel. A huge portion of the posts here are people saying FBA is “dead” in 2025, that the fees are way too high, Amazon support is useless (which I’ve already seen firsthand), they lose your products, your margins get eaten, and there’s just too much competition now to make it worth it.

I guess I’m wondering: how much of this is real, and how much is just coming from people who burned out, didn’t adapt, had unrealistic expectations, or maybe just gave up?

I’m not expecting to get rich quick. I’ve watched a ton of tutorials, and I plan on starting with retail arbitrage, then scaling into online arbitrage, and eventually using prep centers with bulk buying. I’ll also be using tools like Keepa and SellerAmp from the start, and I’m about to invest in materials like a printer, labels, boxes, tape, and bubble wrap — so I can hit the ground running as soon as I’m home.

I’ve come this far already, but I’d be lying if I said all this doom and gloom isn’t getting in my head. Is this business model actually still viable for someone serious, or has the window really closed?

Any honest feedback or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
