Our company is based in the UK, and the director is also a UK resident. I’m a bit confused about VAT when it comes to selling on Amazon. Do we need to be VAT registered right away to open an Amazon account? Or can we wait and register for VAT only after our sales exceed the UK VAT threshold? Would really appreciate insights from sellers who’ve already gone through this process. Thanks!

I see there are two ways to report a brand hijacking. I just tried to use the change a brand name in the help section and got nowhere quick with support. They said they can’t change a brand name. They could only change certain characters like capitalizations.

I also see there’s an option under brand registry, but I’m not sure what is the exact option to pick for someone who hijacked your listing changing the brand name only . We do have a trademark so I assume it’s under trademark, but I’m not sure which option to pick.

It’s absolutely ridiculous. Amazon has been holding me hostage for a year now. Initially they told me I can’t close my acct for 90 days to make sure no returns. Before that time passed they ended up placing my seller acct into “inactive status” . In addition they somehow gave us many stranded units or inventory we haven’t sent to them in a year and keep placing them into ours. I told them it’s not ours to no success they continued to give us units causing our account to continue to be stuck with units and charged for removal fees and stuck in limbo. Now they are saying we have some “balance” they are unable to pay us until we provide a valid bank acct. we have shut our s-corp down a year ago so we do not have any valid bank info. They won’t even tell us how much is it? Maybe it’s only $1 who knows but we don’t care or want anybody to do with Amazon anymore ever. There is no way we can identify ourselves at this point. All they have on file is a credit card we kept open to settle any fees due. They refuse to close our acct even though business is not in existence anymore.

I’m based in Washington State with a registered LLC in Wyoming. It’s a single member LLC and hence treated as a disregarded entity meaning I’ll be taxed as a Washington resident. With the new Washington State taxes on Ads, our already strained margins are going to suffer even more so. What are folks doing in this situation?
