Amazon Makes the Seller Refund Sales Tax when Seller Fulfills the Order and Gets a Return???? Weird
USA Seller Here – Selling to the USA
What am I missing here? I was reading through some of the Amazon material for my professional selling account as I should be near getting a product on there. I am intending to do FBM. I caught a section of text where it looks like Amazon will not refund sales tax on a returned item but instead expects the seller to give the sales tax back? Am I reading that right?
This doesn’t make sense. It’s like Amazon is yet again skirting a level of liability. Do you all do that in such a case? This seems incorrect and wrong. Hopefully I read or understood something incorrectly. It’s like the seller is “paying out” sales tax when the seller never collected it in the first case but Amazon did.
Thank-you for any thoughts.
