Amazon removed the visible price of my listing and also my ranking in search results, for nothing
I’ve been selling a product on amazon for 7 months now, with my own small brand (no brand registry). It’s a wooden cigar ashtray and coasters set, which makes me somewhat different to my only-ashtray selling competition. The thing is, I started selling at a price similar to my competition, applying discount coupons. But this strategy failed to work. So I decided to lower my price (without coupons), to around half the list price I had, and even a little below that, I sold there for about 2 or 3 months. I ended up ranking on the 3rd page, sometimes the 4th (which is not great but I least I was somewhere).
Recently I decided to go back to my original strategy of having a list price similar to competition but using discount coupons. Suddenly, when I did this, amazon removed the visible price from my listing (one can now only see it by clicking on “See all buying options”). I also got removed from the search results COMPLETELY. And amazon says the product is no longer Featured Offer available, because they arbitrarily decided that (it is eligible though).
This is really frustrating. Because my price is totally fine. I don’t understand why amazon would impose such arbitrary policies to the detriment of sellers who pay them every single month. We should be able to change our prices and amazon should let the market run freely, specially when we are talking about niche products.
This is a warning, to let you know that amazon can do whatever they want to your listing and they don’t need to offer explanations. It’s truly unfair.
