Can I sell digital products on Amazon? Do I have to include a phisical cd/dvd?

Hi everybody, I’m selling downloadable digital products on Etsy. And now I want to add a new backup marketplace to my business. Is it possible to sell downloadable digital products on Amazon?

I see some softwares selling directly as “Download” format on Amazon. Are those sellers uploading their software directly to Amazon servers and sitting their backs? How does it work on Amazon?

One of my collegues says you should have also a physical element to sell softwares on amazon, such as DVD, cd. Is this true? Or was it true, but now amazon changed policy?

I couldn’t find clear answers on net, so any help will be appreciated?
