Can you buy GS1 US UPC and Use on Amazon Canada?

I’m a Canadian and want to sell on Amazon Canada.

I notice the GS1 US has the 30 dollar for 1 UPC lifetime.

Whereas Canada charges the same for an individual UPC but its to be renewed as a subscription each year.

Can I, as a Canadian, purchase my UPC from GS1 US to save money and it will still work on Amazon Canada?
