Deactivated due to multiple accounts – other business is not mine

I just registered last month to become a seller – I’ve never sold on amazon before, never used this email address to register on Amazon. I haven’t even published a listing yet.

I got a notice from Amazon US, MX, and CA saying my account is deactivated because I have another suspended account. I’ve never heard of this other business and it is definitely not owned by me. Not a similar name or product type. I never never used MX or CA. I responded and filled out the form saying I am not affiliated with this business. I don’t have any documents to “prove” that this business isn’t mine, so I’m not sure how they will decide.

Now I’m kinda freaking out about identity theft. If I had to go through the gauntlet for verifying my business with the video interview, how could they mistakenly confuse me with someone else. Any ideas about what would trigger them to make a connection with another business account?
