FBA LTL question about pallet packing
I have a question regarding sending inventory to Amazon using LTL pallet shipping. Here is the configuration:
- The entire pallet is the same item
- Each item is in a retail box and a separate shipping box
- They are reasonably large items, weighing about 10lbs each
- Think like a coffee maker in its retail packaging which is then placed inside a custom fit, brown shipping box.
Here is my question:
- Can I stack these boxes directly on the pallet, ie not in a third box just for pallet transportation?
- If so, do I put a box label AND a SKU label on each shipping box?
- Or, do I SKU the retail box and put the box label on each shipping box? My concern with this method is that Amazon will not open each individual item since it is just one item per shipping box and so Amazon won’t have access to the SKU.
I’ve read the forums and gone through Seller University, but I can only find information on setup when you have multiple items (same SKU) per box. I’m having trouble locating information on the setup when each unit is already boxed and it is 1 unit per box.
TLDR: When using LTL, can I put both the SKU and the box label on individually boxed items directly on the pallet if the units in their retail box are already boxed for shipping?
