FBA — retrieved merchandise in bad shape
I just received a shipment of my expired product from Amazon FBA, it had been there a year I think. I can’t find the days it’s been stored in my account. My intention was to send them back to sell under my updated SKU, but when I got them they were so messed up not only can I not sell them, but I’m worried that my other merchandise is going out to buyers looking like this. The product are in barcoded cardboard boxes, with no outer wrapping or bagging. A lot of them were torn, or open from being thrown in the box. For these I wasn’t too worried– obviously the warehouse workers aren’t going to take great care with the items being sent back. But a few of them were stained with oil, the whole thing was brown, you couldn’t read the labels, etc… it looked like it had been sitting in a pool of motor oil. Should I be concerned that they will send items out in this condition? Can I request some sort of compensation for damaged items? Or is this expected after a year of sitting in the warehouse? Thanks for any advice you can offer.
