FBM to POD strategy, is this a valid strategy?

If I have a kind of hoodie available in printify that isn’t available on amazon, is this a valid strategy:
Sell the hoodie by FBM strategy on amazon, then, fullfill the customer’s order by dropshipping it through printify.

Has anyone done this before? Any ideas how this is going to work out?
