Handling sales tax?

I’m about to open a Amazon store.
I have been told that Amazon collects and pays sales tax. Does this mean I do not need to open a state sales tax account? Or do I still need my own sales tax account and file something quarterly/yearly?

I’ve asked other people and they have giving me conflicting answers.
