International return, is it trustable?

Hey guys, so I bought something in Amazon and they sent the wrong item. The thing is that it was international order and at the moment I’m in Colombia (the package arrived here). I talked to someone and they told me it would be a full refund. They also sent me the DHL shipment and arranged the pickup. The thing is that I’ve heard horror stories about international returns. Will I get a full refund? Is the return reliable? Any lady with succesfull stories with an international return?
