a number of months ago I attempted to sign up as an individual seller on amazon.com
Somehow i ended up being registered as a professional account and charged. After some wrangling and downgrading, amazon support refunded me the original charge.
Excellent.
I have not sold or listed anything yet.
Several months later i get an email…in Japanese and i notice a balance due on my amazon seller account, its coming form ASIA: amazon.co.jp, because IT is listed as a Professional account>
I try to translate)google translate and the translate tool in gmail) the email and it basically says that i have a balance due and thatthe credit card on file isnt working.
I start a ticket so to speak with support(.jp) to try to get this charge removed and change the account to individual. I keep getting emails in Japanese indicating they have researched the issue and that i am liable for the 4900 Yen.
I indicate that this isn’t acceptable please reconsider. I receive and email stating they will move forward with researching again.
Today i get an email stating the account has been downgraded and i would be charged 100YEN per sale. the balance remains.
And now, since i no longer have a Pro account i am unable to access the previous case log and have zero ability to communicate about the issue.
Any insight?
Honestly this is the WORST and most convoluted support system Ive encountered>
My though is to add a valid credit card, let them charge it and dispute it…then close the account and reopen a new on knowing what i know to avoid this debacle( apparently you have to be a lot more careful signing up that i was)
