Not doing any considerable margin anymore as an amazonseller
Back in September, I started buying plastic chairs and laundry baskets from Alibaba and selling them on Amazon. I was making around 22% to 28% profit using FBA and working with a fulfillment company that handled pickup, labeling, packaging, and delivery to Amazon.
However, the manufacturer’s cost has increased, and the combined Amazon referral and fulfillment fees are eating into my margins to the point where it’s no longer worth it. I never invested in marketing on Amazon, and the products were selling quite fine.
Do you have any recommendations? Am I missing something here? Should I stop storing my items at Amazon and find a warehousing company with lower fees? Or do you think the days of small resellers are over?
