Organic traffic & order defect rate violation

I heard that ODR violations can apparently affect organic traffic. I was selling between 6-7 units a day organically (without PPC) until I received a violation. Now, I’m lucky to sell one unit a day. This drop in sales happened at the same time I got the violation, which put my account at risk of deactivation.

Is it true that ODR affects organic traffic? If so, has anyone been in this situation? Once the ODR violation is below 1%, does organic traffic resume to normal standards, or is this all just speculation?
