Post Dating a Shipping Label

As an FBM seller, when does Amazon and the customer consider my item shipped? The day I print the label or the ship date I enter when I purchase the label?

For my workflow I’d like to print off my labels a day or two before the date I intend to put them in the mail, but I don’t want Amazon or the customer to think I’ve shipped the item early.
