Products linked to official store

If a product is linked to the official store, rather than saying Brand XXX, does the seller have to submit proof of purchase of the item?

I want to purchase an item that is from a third party seller, but is linked to the brand storefront, so can I presume it is a legit item? Or can any seller just link to the official store, without submitting extra info?

I can’t find the information anywhere!
