Question about selling Amazon ebook & raising proceeds towards charity

Hello! I am writing a children’s book, selling on amazon as an ebook, with the goal of raising money for a specific cause. How should I go about collecting proceeds and saying that “all proceeds go to (specific cause)”

1. should i make a nonprofit and collect the proceeds through that? then donate to another nonprofit that goes specifically to that cause?
2. should i just reach out to an organization that already supports that cause?
3. other ideas?

My concern about option 2 is if the money first has to go to a bank account and then i transfer it to the charity, how will that look for tax purposes? I’m not too familar with how taxes/irs works, but i would not want this to be thought of as additional income if it first has to go to my bank account then to the charity?
