Removal Order Disaster: Threw Product in Flimsy Cardboard Bins
I sell framed art in a beautiful gift box, which is part of my product. I put in a removal order, and Amazon charged me $6.36 per item, so $4700 to ship home. They made flimsy huge boxes and just threw my items in there, damaging all my products. Threw them in a pile like you would throw into a huge trash bin emptying a house.
This is a complete disaster. About 95% of the boxes arrived scratched, punctured, or smashed. I can’t sell them in this condition unless I label them as damaged goods. To make things worse, the tops of the boxes were left open, with loose products spilling out and some items missing. There were NO packing slips included either.
I’m at a loss here—what kind of recourse do I have? Has anyone else experienced something like this? Should I consider hiring an Amazon lawyer? This whole situation is ridiculous, and I’m not sure what my next steps should be.
I recently opted out of Amazon’s SIPP program because, for my framed art gift items, the outer gift box is an essential part of the product. Initially, Amazon was shipping these gift boxes with shipping stickers slapped directly on them, which was unacceptable since the box itself is part of the product presentation. I insisted that the gift box needed to be carefully wrapped inside an outer box for shipping and they complied when shipping to customers.
