Seller Approvals – bank statement
I am having a hell of a time getting seller approval. I had actually gotten it years ago for another business. Today I am registering again for a new project/product. I thought maybe some others can help with their approval experience since it is stalled now.
- I am a US citizen but living in Germany with a registered German sole proprietorship business (einzelunternehmen).
- I submitted my passport and a printed “bank statement”
- Amazon requested a video approval call (this took 1 week), finally I did the call and everything went fine, they confirmed my identity in the video call
- The next day I received a “your documents have been rejected” and a list of like 20 possible things it could be.
I suspect it could be a few issues:
a. I printed an online PDF I generated from my bank (balance statement). My bank is a newer online only bank and all my statements for the past 4 years have been electronic only. In the specifications it says you can not use a print of an online statement, but I checked with my bank and they said: We dont have physical mail statements, and no other amazon sellers had problems with this before.
b. I have a registered business address that I use for public-facing business address. But my bank is under my personal address. I read the bank address has to match with the address I registered my amazon account under. Maybe this is why I got rejected? Unfortunately I can not go back and change my registration address now.
I think to correct the address issue I would need to create yet another registration. This would be the 3rd attempt, since the first time I chose the wrong business type and had to start new. I keep having to create new email aliases to start a new registration and its getting rather old at this point.
Amazon seller registration is like navigating a maze of tricks and clues that you only learn as you go through it, then you need to start the maze over again. Its really silly and now its beginning to be a huge time waste…
