Selling Generic and Branded Listings

I am trying to understand how Amazon marketplace works. if you are a Brand (own an established trademark) can you create product listings under the “Generic” category and create product listings under your “Brand” GTIN? Or must all your listings go on “Brand” if you are part of the registered Brand Registry?
